I went diving for the first time in Fiji a few months ago (I know I am insanely lucky), and everytime I got to depth my nose started bleeding. Normally I wouldn’t care, but there are a lot of sharks in the waters of Fiji and most places where I would consider going diving. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions? Should I be worried about getting mauled by a shark?

This was our first time scuba diving. We dove with Eagle Ray Divers in Cozumel, Mexico on April 19, 2007 and are probably among the few Hyderabadis to have tried it …and hopefully we’ll try to change that. i’ve started attending a diving school and we’ll have practice this weekend. but there is a point i am curious about; all the equipment will be given to us except a swimsuit (to wear inside the neoprene suit) and a towel. is it better to wear shorts (produced for swimming of course) or should i buy a slip swimsuit? would shorts disturb me in the neoprene suit?
the second question: is itreally hard to equalize the pressure on your ear drum? i had tried it lots of times during snorkel diving but most of the times i cannot equalize it. would it be a problem or is it sth that can be learnt?
