how can i read a xbox hard drive on my computer?

i need to read it, i have a working USB IDE cable and a power thing to power up the hard drive. it works with other hard drives but not the xbox one. My xbox hard dive works on the xbox. please help me i need to get the backup of the drive so i can try modding my xbox.
