but if you are out of air and need to come straight up you do what is called an emergency ascent, wich is exhaling slowly on your way up, so if you do it right you will still have full lungs at the surface and not be dead. : ) lloll

if you take a breath at 40 feet the pressure is a lot more then at the top, (every thirtythree feet under water is equal to another atmosphere), and air gets compressed under pressure, sooooo, if you have full lungs of compressed air, when the pressure starts to decrease on the ascent the air in your lungs expands and if your lungs are already full and your holding your breath your lung could rip,

why does your lungs expand if you’re just holding the air? ..well…. 40 feet is a little deep to hold air until you get to the top.

I said, I’m not a scuba diver, so I’m not the most educated on decompression sickness. But y’know, a cat’s smaller than a human is. The lungs are much smaller. That’s not a factor at all?

this has to be the funniest thing ive ever seen lmao :):):)

  11. applejoosproductions on February 20th, 2007

that won’t happen in that shallow water, if you take a breath at say, 40 feet and hold it and come up to the surface the air in your lungs expands and can rip your lungs.decompression sickness and a lung embolism are different things.

The majority of the internet is for entertainment, which to some people might seem meaningless (which is the proper spelling of it, btw) but most folks see things like this for how interesting and entertaining it is.

  15. Jazzlizard on February 23rd, 2007

It looks like they don’t go nearly deep enough for decompression sickness. Especially if this guy’s an avid diver, he’s know what he was doing.

Posting something meanibless in the internet too.

Don’t they teach scuba divers to exhale while surfacing to keep nitrogen from forming in their lungs or something similar? Couldn’t that… y’know, kill both of his animals?
