Scuba Diving Training?

I am planning on becoming an OWSI and wanted some input on which schools are better than others. In the USA, there are some good ones in the Florida Keys, but I have also found one in Pattay Thailand. What extra courses should I be certified in and any input on quality schools would be great. Any school is good if the instructors are good. I would rather get certified in the US and also do my Advanced dives in the US. Non-western countries tend to be lax on scuba instruction.
Does not matter who the agency is: PADI, NAUI or SSI.. as long as it a good school with enthusiastic instructors.
